I worked for nearly two decades on the main stages of UK festivals, acting as a system technician, monitor engineer and head of main stage on festivals including Download, T in the Park, T4 On The Beach, Latitude, Oxygen, Global Gathering, V, Leeds and Reading.
I also toured Europe as a system technician and worked on arts events across the UK such as La Machine in Liverpool, Arts Fest in Birmingham, River of Music in London, the Na Trads for BBC Alba in Scotland and the Harry Potter wrap party at Leavesden studios.
The increase in the event production aspect of my work meant that I wasn't able to continue my commitment to live music but I'm still a music lover and just have to resign myself to being in the audience rather than backstage.
